Some bummer news! While out on their honeymoon, Instagram took it on themselves to permanently ban Jey Pawlik’s profile there. Doesn’t seem like there was any rhyme or reason, all automatic without a single human checking it over.

The world of social media has gotten so turbulent this past year, so in an attempt to be as ready for the future as possible – we’ve put together as many new accounts as we could; trying our best to make sure you can all still stay looped in when a new comic goes live, no matter where you call home.

Last week, November 19th, I had the pleasure of being a fellow guest with Storm Large for the Portland stop of Amanda Palmer’s The Art of Asking book tour.
Wow.
It all came together a couple days before the show– first her tour assistant, the kind and talented Whitney Moses, invited me to just attend the show as a spectator and then the day before the event she asked if I’d maybe wanna talk with Amanda and Storm on stage.

Portland is FRYING like an egg. It’s so freakin’ hot, Erika and I don’t even know what to do with ourselves.
Honestly, we have this latex dress that we’re SO EXCITED FOR. But, guys… it’s like 100F inside the house 0_0 So instead, HOT-off the press, a comic on the njoy Fun Wand! A toy sent to us YEARS ago, and one we wrote off as pretty but ineffective. UNTIL NOW.
If you buy it, I hope you like it as much as we did!

We’re SO thankful that we got to try out this bonkers exciting toy, but… it just didn’t work out for us. At all. The MotorBunny is something I think we’ll still enjoy watching OTHERS use, but will we ever use ours again? No.

A big selling point of the Motorbunny that we didn’t get to delve into is that it’s a self-touted Sybian machine – just cheaper and newer and ‘better’.
If you don’t know what a Sybian is… well it’s JUST like the Motorbunny. It’s a toy that was designed and built in the 80’s, it’s a crazy Barbarella vibrator. It was a different time back then, the sex toy world was new and full of innovation and experimentation. People had fun ambitions of making the ultimate orgasm machine but were also constrained by the lack of good materials, competitive design and research.
Unfortunately instead of taking the Sybian idea further and expanding on it for the modern era, Motorbunny just made the same device: albeit a tiny bit stronger and cheaper. It still suffers the same faults and, in today’s sex toy world, there are just so many better made toys for your sex life.
We’re holding out hope that the next Motorbunny innovates rather than replicates its inspiration. In the mean time, vibration friends, just stick with your Doxies and Magic Wands!
I’ve been wanting to do a comic like this for years, it’s honestly been in the making for about 6 months! Really happy to finally have it up and done and on the site. Was lovely to have Erika draw up a slice of Gene Wilder too =)
There is such a huge network of indie-sex-toy makers and companies out there, and our list is just the tip of a humongously perverted iceberg. Hopefully, today’s comic gets to those of you who are looking for something creative, fantastical, and different. If you follow my Instagram or Twitter, you’ve been exposed to my love of embroidery and progress pictures of my latest needlepoint projects. Just last night I started this new one, inspired by the quote “Nevertheless, she persisted“. If you’ve been following American politics, you know what that’s about ;)
As soon as I heard that phrase, I knew I had to commit it to stitches– but the words by themselves, though powerful, looked a bit empty floating in space all alone. So then I thinks to myself, I thinks “What do I love to embroider? FLOWERS, motherfucker!” After considering a few different species known for their hardiness (Or should I say… their persistence?) I decided on the noble thistle. She’s tough as nails, has a plan, and will draw blood if you try to grab her with your bare hands. Yeah. The thistle is my flower of choice for this project.
I was super flattered to get several requests to share my design with my fellow embroidery enthusiasts! So yeah! I’mma do that! But first, I ask that you follow these instructions:

ALSO. This point didn’t make it into the comic, but it’s the first example I bring up when I hear about someone’s bi/pan/queer sexuality being dismissed because they don’t have equal experience with the various genders:
When a virgin cisgender teenage boy who’s never even asked a girl out yet says that he’s straight, nobody’s like “You haven’t been with a girl yet, so I don’t really believe you. You’re confused or you want attention or you want to fit in with the cool kids or you just don’t even know what you actually want.” No! They’re just like “Ok.” and they don’t give it a second thought.
And yet, when people say they are attracted to more than one gender but they haven’t had any experience with those other types of folks, it’s fairly common they’ll get that incredulous, dismissive reaction– even from other members under the queer umbrella. There’s this air of “Prove it.” from the monosexuals.
Which is a long way of saying: If folks are willing to take a self-proclaimed straight boy at his word that he’s attracted to girls even if he has no experience with them, it’d be super cool if people would extend that courtesy of belief to all the inexperienced queer population too.
Which was still a long way of saying: DUDE, JUST BE COOL ABOUT BISEXUALS!

Finding yourself in transition is a journey. To quote the lovely Dolly Parton: if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain!
Making changes to how I dress to at least be gendered differently came at the cost of my favorite wardrobe pieces, but I’m staying hopeful that one day I’ll don a skirt again. Whether that takes time, change, a heckton of bravery, or all three has yet to be seen. In the end, if gender is fluid, then I may just be okay with whatever pronoun the rain throws at me.

I’m so thrilled to share with you Morgan Kagesheongai’s comic on the complex intersection of hair, gender, and culture as a Two-Spirit Ojibwe! Being Anishinaabe myself, seeing this rad Woodland art style on our site is such a DREAM! The expressiveness of the lines infuses full panels with feelings in ways I don’t often find in other art.
While the little Two-Spirit here is trying to reconcile their gender expression and their cultural and spiritual expression regarding their hair, the dilemma they face is something many people experience in other contexts: What do you do when two ways you want to represent yourself conflict? Who do you turn to for answers? Can there even be a “right” answer? Learning to sit more comfortably in this in-between space of consideration is a good exercise for us all. Hey folks, it’s Jey and I’m BACK!
It’s been a little while and some things have changed: like I started testosterone after thinking I’d never ever do it. But here I am, so I thought I’d write a comic on it and what I was feeling while making the decision.
It’s ok to experiment, to learn, to realize you were wrong. It’s ok if it was right at one time and now it isn’t. It’s your journey, don’t let anyone else try to tell you the requirements!
I’m looking forward to being back on the team after my time away in video game land. Thanks Matthew and Erika for having me back. I’m looking forward to writing some fun new autobio works!

Everyone’s way of reconciling with their balding is a little bit different. Funnily enough, it took getting out of my own head for me to find some peace with mine.
Phew! This was a big comic to get through the finish line! I set myself up quite an ambitious task (especially in the art department) but I’m quite proud of how it all turned out! It’s not perfect, but imperfection’s become something I dearly cherish these days.
